We're heading to Niseko — Japan's snow capital — for seven days of powder paradise, expect guided riding, daily yoga, onsen soaks, night skiing, and off-the-beaten-path adventures. A small crew of serious snow lovers with everything taken care of... What more could you want?
On this epic powder tour we will be taking you out into Hokkaido's best backcountry spots. Most days we will ride lift assisted gate accessible terrain within the local resorts of Niseko, Rusutsu, Kiroro and Kokusai, avalanche safety kit will be required and professional guides will lead the groups. You'll have a free day to enjoy some chill turns in resort or take a day off the mountain and get a massage! We will close the week with a Mt. Yotei volcano touring hike. This really is the best of the best that Niseko has to offer!
Based at Setsu Niseko for the full trip, in the heart of Hirafu and walking distance from the lifts. Guided gates and backcountry days across Niseko United, a half-day at Rusutsu, and a day at Kiroro or Sapporo Kokusai chosen on the conditions.
One free day to rest, soak in an onsen or ride on your own — and a guided hike up Mt Yōtei, Hokkaido's perfect volcano, for the standout descent of the week.
Shared pickup at New Chitose on arrival, and the return transfer back for your flight out.
Daily yoga sessions — a morning flow to set you up for the mountain, with slower afternoon sessions on some days.
5 days of guided on-snow adventures into the Hokkaido backcountry — with the terrain and resort chosen based on the morning's conditions.
Setsu Niseko — a Japanese-inspired, design-led 5-star hotel in the heart of Hirafu at the base of the mountain. Complete with onsen, spa, gym and breakfast included.
Start your day with a morning flow yoga session, then head to the buffet breakfast before we meet for a day on the mountain. You could even take a morning cold plunge in the hotel onsen if you're feeling brave.
We will head out onto the mountain for an early start most days, meeting our guides by 9am at the latest. Expect to be out on snow for several hours each day, we normally have lunch on the mountain.
Back to base to soak in the onsen. Some afternoons will be open free time to do your own thing, and some there will be guided yoga sessions too. In your free time feel free to head back out on the mountain, book a massage or just bop out and explore the town!
We will have a welcome dinner on the first night, after that it's group choice — we can have dinners together or do your own thing. Some evenings there will be organized group activities that are optional to join — karaoke in the local town, a trip to a mixed outdoor onsen hot spring or just exploring local bars.
You should be confident on intermediate and variable terrain. Guided days are split generally by ability, and the touring days suit strong intermediates who have experience riding powder and trees. We know our groups will have mixed experience and ability levels, however our guides have a duty of care to everyone in the group — if you join the trip and are unable to meet the general riding level of the group we will not be able to take you out onto the mountain for yours and others' safety. Lessons can be arranged at extra cost, however you will not receive any refund for missed guided sessions.
We have shared transfers to pick up guests from the airport, Sapporo New Chitose (CTS). The included transfer times will be confirmed once we have everyone's arrival and departure times. Please note that as it is a shared transfer you may be waiting for other guests to arrive. We recommend landing at CTS by 1pm at the latest on the 7th and departing by 1pm at the earliest on the 13th.
If you're arriving early or leaving later, we can help you book a private transfer, charter bus, or train option to Niseko.
Once in Niseko all transport to listed activities is included. A free shuttle bus runs from the hotel throughout Hirafu village too, so you can get around freely.
Lift passes aren't included — they vary in price by resort across Niseko, Rusutsu, Kiroro and the others. We'll share guidance on the best value passes closer to the date. If you have an Icon pass, Niseko United has 7 free days of use included, and for the Epic pass you also get free days at Rusutsu resort.
Absolutely. If you choose a twin sharing room option we can pair you with a like-minded roommate, or take a king single occupancy room for full privacy! Many of our guests come solo!
You'll need to bring or rent your own ski or snowboard gear. That includes:
If you need to rent gear, we've made it easy — the hotel's in-house rental store is operated by Rhythm Japan, one of the most reputable shops in Niseko. You'll be able to reserve high-quality equipment in advance.
Rental gear books out quickly. We recommend confirming what you need with us as early as possible so we can pre-arrange it.
Yoga mats and props (blocks, straps, etc.) will be provided on-site for use during our twice-daily sessions. No need to bring your own unless you prefer to.
Our trips are adults only. We have a range of people from ages 25–55 with a good balance of guys and girls. We chat to everyone who applies first to make sure the group will connect well together. Our goal is maximum fun for everyone who joins the trip.
A 1000 USD deposit secures your spot on the trip. Your balance is due on December 1st 2026. You can cancel for free until October 1st. After October 1st your deposit is non refundable.
Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance covering winter sports, cancellations and medical care is required. For the backcountry and touring days, search-and-rescue cover is recommended.
