A weekend in a surfers paradise. A long, peeling left, daily beachside yoga sessions, lazy afternoons and sunsets shared with friends.

We're heading to La Saladita, a small surf town on Mexico's Pacific coast — a fishing village wrapped around one of the friendliest waves in the country: a super-long left point break that just peels into the bay. It's a longboarder's dream, and a forgiving place to learn and improve.

We've built a five days escape with daily surf sessions and daily beach yoga in the mornings and afternoons — think lazy afternoons, long dinners, warm water, and good people.

The base

Home base · Samas.

You'll stay at Samas — the first proper boutique hotel on this stretch of coast, opened in 2025 at the quiet end of the beach. Ten rooms, an infinity pool over the ocean, an organic kitchen garden, and a spa, all a few steps from the water.

Mornings are for yoga facing the sea and surf as the point glasses off. The rest is yours — hammocks, the pool, botanical-oil massages, a sauna and ice bath, or the long mellow left a paddle away.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know how to surf? +

No. La Saladita is one of Mexico's friendliest waves — a long, mellow left point break that peels right into the bay, ideal for longboarders and improvers and forgiving enough to learn on. Daily surf sessions are included; structured lessons are available at extra cost.

What board should I bring — or can I rent? +

Longboards and mid-lengths suit the wave best. You don't need to travel with your own — quality boards can be hired locally from around 300 pesos a day.

How do I get there? +

Fly into Zihuatanejo / Ixtapa (ZIH), about 45 minutes away, with daily Aeroméxico connections via Mexico City. We'll guide you on flights and transfers once you're booked.

Is there an ATM — can I pay by card? +

There are no ATMs in La Saladita, and many places are cash only. Bring pesos — the nearest machines are in Los Llanos (5km away) or at the airport.

Can I come solo? +

Absolutely — many guests come on their own. Choose a solo room or twin share and we'll pair you with a like-minded roommate.

Is travel insurance required? +

Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance covering surf and watersports, cancellations and medical care is required for all guests.
